Hi regular readers, welcome new readers,
Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend and are ready to jumpstart what’s left of this work week. I just came in from the storm. We had a torrential rainstorm 2 hours ago and the city is pretty much flooded. Lots of vehicles stuck in flood and the rest are stuck in the traffic crawl all the way from the city.
Going to keep it short here. I will be taking the next 2 weeks off so there will be no publications. Please feel free to dig around in our ezine archives for great business articles we’re published over the past year. Many of them are really worth re-reading, I promise.
Oh, by the way, have you checked out my latest promotion yet? It saves you money when you advertise on my blogs. If you’ve been using the same old advertising channels, you might want to try something new.
So if you do nothing today, you should at least protect your computer against ever-sophisticated malware threats out there. You can guard against this problem - try Comodo Internet Security Pro for 30 days for FREE! No obligations.

Blog Giveaway Tips
by Angie Nelson
Holding a blog giveaway can be both very exciting and very stressful. Your first giveaway, or five, can be a learning experience. As I geared up to hold my first blog giveaway, I wanted to make sure all my bases were covered.
I tend to research things to death and see no point in keeping all the great tips I find to myself, so here are some of the great blog giveaway tips I've encountered on my search.
|
1. How to Enter - Be sure to clearly state what you expect your readers to do in order to be entered in your giveaway.
The most popular choice is leaving a comment on your blog. Many bloggers like to show their sponsor some traffic love by having entrants visit the sponsor's site and come back with a blog comment on a product they love.
Many also give the option of getting bonus entries by subscribing to their blog, following them on twitter and fanning them on Facebook. These are great way to not only get additional entries to your giveaway, but to also build your list. Some may unsubscribe or unfollow after the giveaway, but many more will stick around.
2. How Will You Notify the Winner - Many bloggers leave this part out and it can be confusing to the entrant. Do they need to come back to the blog after the giveaway is over to see if they are the winner? Will you contact them via email? (In which case, make sure you are obtaining their email) Do they have a certain time period to respond? Let them know what the next step will be.
|
3. Get the Word Out - There are a lot of methods to get the word out about your blog giveaway. First, get it out in the twitter and Facebook worlds. This will make it easier for your followers, friends and fans to share the word with others. Next, get it listed on the giveaway lists. Online Sweepstakes, Contestblogger, Contests for Moms and Mom Giveaways are great places to start.
4. Keep Promoting - I found out during my research there are Potential Giveaway Entrants that have a very specific method to finding and entering blog giveaways. They use twitter search. They search for specific keywords such as "low entries," "only entries" and "ending today."
They use these keywords to gauge their chances of winning a particular giveaway. Obviously if they find a giveaway ending today with only three entrants, their chances are pretty good. Take this tip and run with it. When tweeting your giveaway that is suffering entry deficit use those phrases. (I.e. "(your) giveaway only (number) entries," "(your) giveaway low entries" and "(your) giveaway ending today.")

|
5. Random.org - Use random.org to choose your winner. Some bloggers even include an image of random.org's results on their blog when posting the winners name. Alternatively, I've seen some of the "pro bloggers" call out for a number on twitter, but the choice is yours. You may be waiting for awhile on a twitter request if your followers are busy. The comment corresponding with the number is the winner.
6. Make sure all your loose ends are wrapped up. If your winner did not respond according to directions, draw a new winner when their time frame is up. Forward their info to your giveaway sponsor if the sponsor is shipping the prize. If you are in charge of shipping, get it done as soon as possible.
Those are the blog giveaway tips from my goodie bag. Have any tips you'd like to add? Please stop by blog leave me a comment.
