Hi regular readers, welcome new readers,
So here we are on another Tuesday. I’m tired, didn’t sleep well last night but the show must go on. I’ll try to sneak in 40 winks later if I don’t get too tied up with business. But then again, I do want to get tied up with business because that would mean I’m making money. How conflicting is that!
I’ve got a great line-up of business articles coming up so stay tuned for those as we ease (gently, I hope) into the holiday season. If there’s any topic you’d like me to post an article about, please let me know. It’s my wish that we help each other see a sales rush this year end in spite of the economy.
Solo ads are Buy 1, Get 1 FREE so if you’re in need of sending out your ad to 3000+ responsive readers on this ezine or at my other ezine, Minute Chaser, check out the offer here now.

Six-Figure Income School - Goal Setting For Financial Freedom
by Maria Rattray
It has been proven over and over again, that people who actually write down their goals are more likely to achieve them. People who have mastered greatness in their lives - athletes, business people, entrepreneurs, musicians - will tell you that they set clear goals for themselves and carefully work towards achieving them.
So, if you really are bent on reaching your goals, WRITE THEM DOWN. Set yourself some short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals. This could be a one-year plan, then a five-year, and perhaps a ten-year.
It is important that you revisit them each and every day. Use your brain as you would a computer. If you do so there is a very strong chance that your mind will make that transfer to your body, and you will succeed.

At one time I would have been skeptical of doing such a thing. In truth, I really didn't think about goal-setting at all. When you are young you have the world at your feet, life appears to be easy. You are healthy. You have a job.
Your children are in school and thriving. You are busy working on every committee possible. You do that for your children's sake. The result of this is that for many years many of us simply coast along, too busy with the 'busies' of life to concentrate on strategic planning for the future.
Many people fall into that trap. They always manage to pay their bills and the mortgage. They eat well. Nice bottles of wine can be had from time to time. In the good times it's not too hard or onerous to pay school fees, music fees, camp fees, in fact just about any fees that are part and parcel of educating children. An annual holiday can always factored in somehow. All in all, we plod along content that all is well.
It would be true to say that many of us pay little thought to, and fail to factor in, the passing years, the limited amount of working time that we have left, even the notion that we might ever be viewed as too old for the workforce. .
And then that CRUNCH comes and we are ill-prepared, caught napping. Think of the global downturn in the market right now. That has caught most of us off-guard and left huge numbers of us hurting. Who saw it coming? How many of us got caught up in the resultant pain? How many of us will struggle to recover?

Maybe you are one of the luckier ones with a government-protected superannuation fund that assures your long-term financial growth. Perhaps too you are young enough to weather the storm.
But there again, you may well be in that age bracket where you feel you don't have enough productive years ahead to recover financially. If you are, there is hope. There is choice. As individuals we can adopt a woe-is-me attitude and feel that the world is against us, or we can be positive and fire up the energies that we have utilised in the past, to turn our lives around. We can also learn from the past!
You know it's always much easier to respond negatively when things go wrong for us. We can throw dirt at society, at the agencies who in the past recklessly loaned money to people who could never have afforded to pay back. Yes, we can engage in a little bit of mud-slinging. We can blame others. That may make us feel better for a while. Maybe!
|
|
But the truth is that we are all accountable for our own destiny. All along the pathway of our life we make choices. And those choices that we make are the determiners for who we are and where we find ourselves at any particular point in time. Hard to swallow, isn't it! It's the truth though! We make the choices and there is simply no room for blame or recrimination.
So how do we begin the process of recovery? It's simpler than you might imagine. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start on your journey. Think only positive thoughts each and every day, and credit yourself when you do so.
Every day before you even get out of bed, think about all the things that you should be grateful for. It may be a loving family, perfect health, a roof over your head. Replace any negative thoughts by the planting of positive ones. Negative thinking does not belong in your psyche.
And this is where goal-setting comes in. Now determine what your goals are going to be, the time frame in which you want to achieve them, and how you are going to go about doing so. Write all of them down. This is the big picture.
Now break them down into manageable chunks, starting from the smaller and working towards the more challenging. Make sure that they are visible to you each and every day. Read them aloud. Imagine them. Tick each of them off as they are achieved. Feel the success. Turn your goals into reality. If you make this a regular part of your daily living, success will follow and the rewards will be great. Carpe diem!
