Hi regular readers, welcome new readers,

Whoa, it’s Christmas week and the holiday frenzy is practically in full swing now. I just got back from my beach vacation last week. I had a really great time and to be honest, it’s very hard to get my nose back on the grind LOL.

But that’s the thing about a home business, isn’t it? It’s like your baby and you just have to keep busy whether you like it or not. At any rate, I’m ready to get some work done while waiting for the festivities to begin. How about you?

Got a great article for you to mull over during the break, if you’re taking one. Also feel free to check out my ezine archives to catch up on articles you might’ve missed or to re-read those you found useful. I find that re-reading an article gives me a new perspective and new ideas sometimes, so it’s worth taking the time.

Most of the time they will follow you in return, which is basically an unwritten twitter rule.

How to Benefit from It

Listen, effective Twitter strategies revolve around gathering your following appropriately. Depending on your niche, you need to find individuals who are interested in the same thing. So let's say you're promoting sports bobbleheads; you will want to gather a following that revolves around the various sports you're promoting.

On a personal standpoint it's important to be yourself. It's not all about your business and the sooner you figure this out the easier it will be to draw in more people. When it is time to start promoting your business, you have to do more than "Hey take a look at this site!"

In all honesty, most people will simply pass on it. Instead, put in something like, "Have you seen the new Hideki Matsui World Series MVP poster?" Granted, you should have one to view, but if it's a picture that is special, people will remember it.

One thing to keep in mind when you're using Twitter, you only have 140 characters to work with before it cuts you off. This means if you add a URL it will be counted as part of your characters. Now, several marketers utilize some sort of URL branding option that makes their link smaller. This way you can put more information in your "tweet."

If you need to help your article marketing campaigns or blog get a boost in views to help in search engine optimization, it's smart to share your links on Twitter. So even if you aren't necessarily promoting your website, you're still helping it gain a reputation online so more targeted traffic can find its way to your site.

There are several effective Twitter strategies out there for promoting your business. In fact, when you start using this social platform yourself, you'll soon realize many tactics on your own.
