Hi regular readers, welcome new readers,

 

Whoa, it’s Christmas week and the holiday frenzy is practically in full swing now. I just got back from my beach vacation last week. I had a really great time and to be honest, it’s very hard to get my nose back on the grind LOL.

 

But that’s the thing about a home business, isn’t it? It’s like your baby and you just have to keep busy whether you like it or not. At any rate, I’m ready to get some work done while waiting for the festivities to begin. How about you?

 

Got a great article for you to mull over during the break, if you’re taking one. I find that re-reading an article gives me a new perspective and new ideas sometimes, so it’s worth taking the time.

Listen, effective Twitter strategies revolve around gathering your following appropriately. Depending on your niche, you need to find individuals who are interested in the same thing. So let's say you're promoting sports bobbleheads; you will want to gather a following that revolves around the various sports you're promoting.

On a personal standpoint it's important to be yourself. It's not all about your business and the sooner you figure this out the easier it will be to draw in more people. When it is time to start promoting your business, you have to do more than "Hey take a look at this site!"

One thing to keep in mind when you're using Twitter, you only have 140 characters to work with before it cuts you off. This means if you add a URL it will be counted as part of your characters. Now, several marketers utilize some sort of URL branding option that makes their link smaller. This way you can put more information in your "tweet."

So even if you aren't necessarily promoting your website, you're still helping it gain a reputation online so more targeted traffic can find its way to your site.
