Hi regular readers, welcome new readers,
My apologies that this issue is late. I tripped on a step and fell on Monday and decided not to strain my hand too much, so I went to sleep early.
You can read what happened here. I’ll keep it short here as I still have emails to catch up on before I call it a day, a short day.

Tips for Effective Affiliate Marketing With Blogs
by Dave Cooper
If you're like many affiliate marketers, you've decided to use a blog to help promote the affiliate products and programs you've chosen. Using blogs is a very effective way to promote affiliate programs, because they're excellent sources for getting traffic and links from other websites.
Since blogs are updated frequently, search engines also tend to love them. And other, more static websites will often syndicate content from good blogs on their sites, and this can give your blog even more exposure with additional links and traffic.
When used well, blogs can be a very effective affiliate marketing tool. And here are some tips to increase the effectiveness of your own affiliate marketing efforts using blogs.
|
|
1. Post frequently to your blog. The more often a blog is updated, the more interest search engines will take, and the more traffic you will get. Since blogs "alert" various other sites and services when updates are made, each time you post you are essentially announcing to the web that you have new content on your website.
So don't over do things by spamming with hundreds of nonsense posts every day, but do set a regular update schedule and stick to it. Even updating just a few times each week can really make a big difference in your traffic levels after just a month or two.
|
|
2. Stay on topic. When you create a blog for the purpose of getting affiliate sales, it's very important to keep your blog focused on the topic at hand. It's a waste of time, effort, links and traffic to create blog posts about hot rod cars, and then try to promote an ebook about having a baby on that blog.
Yes there are rare cases where some of your visitors will be interested in both topics, but you'll have much more success with your affiliate promotions if you promote products which are very closely related to the blog topics you write about.
|
|
3. Interact with your visitors. One of the most powerful features of a blog is the commenting system. Visitors who come and read your content can leave you feedback and comments on what you've written. When you write well, you can end up with big discussions and lots of commentary from your visitors. And this commentary is what makes a blog really successful.
4. Interact with other blogs. The same concept as above applies to other blogs too. If you're writing a blog about gardening for instance, you can increase your reputation, traffic and links by visiting other gardening blogs and leaving comments for them.
Doing this regularly with other blogs on the same topic will help increase the number of visitors your own blog gets. Because readers at the other blog are interested in that topic, so when they see your comments and a link to your own related site, they're more inclined to visit and see what you have as well.
When using the technique of commenting on related blogs, be sure you're not just putting promotional or spammy content there. Craft intelligent, useful responses that will be of interest to that target market. The more useful or informative your comments are, the more likely the visitors from that blog will want to visit yours as well.
The same applies to your own blog: When people leave good comments, be sure to reply to those comments as soon as you can. This helps make your blog look even more active, and it helps encourage other visitors to leave comments themselves.
